We are facing a significant issue with UPS losing our FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) packages. All labels were generated by Amazon, but getting reimbursed has led to a dead end. Wondering if any other sellers have dealt with exact issue.
We have 18 FBA shipments, consisting of over 85 boxes, all of which have vanished. The cost of these goods is $20k. These shipments showed "in transit" for several weeks. We regularly checked the status to open investigations, but the dates were repeatedly revised and pushed back by Amazon. Then, all 18 shipments were "closed" on the exact same day, and not eligible for investigation.
Upon checking the tracking numbers, we found that UPS never had possession of the packages. When we opened claims, Amazon responded with, "Please provide a valid tracking ID for the shipment or a receipt indicating that the carrier had possession of this package."
Here’s the problem: we cannot provide receipts for proof of pickup. Our UPS driver scans the packages daily but cannot print a receipt or provide proof of pickup. No end-of-day report is available for FBA orders. We discovered that only UPS drop-off facilities provide receipts.
Any advice or guidance on how to move forward would be greatly appreciated.
There's a lot of problems with this:
1. If your driver scans the packages daily, they would have a pickup scan on each tracking number. But according to your post they do not.
2. It sounds like you are dealing with theft of your UPS packages before they ever got scanned to UPS. So if *YOU* personally did not give those packages to UPS, then chances are your employee(s) who were working that day took them. Or, MUCH less probable, is the UPS driver stole 85 boxes, which isn't really conceivable.
With that amount of packages, it does not sound like a UPS issue. It sounds like a major internal theft issue. UPS doesn't "lose" 85 packages, period. Amazon is not going to help you at all, this isn't their fault.
Hi @Seller_56LwxRbjxIdUY, proof of pickup is necessary to launch an investigation in these cases. Are you able to contact UPS?
