Read onlyJust a reminder to all of my long time fellow sellers, March 10 is when Amazon starts it's new and "unimproved" reimbursement policy for all the shipments and items they "lose" for us that are shipped to FBA. Check your shipments page now while you still have time to give them the documentation needed to receive amounts from lost sales, not just missing merchandise costs.
Good luck!
everyone should be up in arms over this, its not right and the burden for us to submit proof is ridiculous.
No reimbursement for the shipping of the product to amazon, nor placement fees, nor prep fees, its just terrible. I just took a look at their valuations of my items and in most cases its significantly under what I paid.
Horrible update to FBA reimbursement policy going into effect on March 31, 2025.
TLDR
Sourcing costs are arbitrarily determined by amazon, its up to you to prove actual costs.
They gave me a page to update and maintain the actual costs of all my 1500+ SKU's. (As if I had nothing else to do, Fun.)
Reimbursement for unsellable items is based on a "discounted sale" valuation
If they lose my crap and find it later they have right to dispose or sell it. Who is to say they lose my $100 collectible that I paid $20 for and then go and sell it themselves for a profit.
Strict penalties for submitting premature or numerous requests, potentially delaying support or leading to account suspension. Man penalties for trying to get your money back.
They can now lose your Charizard, find it later and sell it for $270k while paying you only your original cost of $4.
