Read onlyI have sold hundreds of a particular product for a set FBA fee. Randomly, one day the FBA increased by 25%'ish.
I found that Amazon moved me from the small-standard sized tier to the large because the thickness of my package is .04 inches more than the allowed amount, so now they group my product with items that can weigh up to 20lbs. That's the size of a credit card receipt on thermal paper, two sheets of printer paper, or two business cards.
Package dimensions: 3.82 (L) X 2.8 (W) X 0.79 ( H) inches
Unit weight: 0.07 pounds
Product size tier: Large standard
Have any of you ever had success staying in the smaller tier when you are this close to the requirements?
The verdict is in. I'm 20 pounds under the large tier, 3x shorter on all sides, but over the width by .04 so Amazon refuses to place me in the small standard tier. 25% increase in fees.
Thanks, Amazon! You always know how to treat (a new and will be very short lived) seller right!
