I ordered a custom product with my logo from Alibaba. I have them in hand, there are 8 color variations, none have UPCs. Through research, I learned that I need purchase UPCs for them; I went the proper route and purchased UPCs through GS1 US. I know each variation needs their own, I plan on selling through FBA.
With all of that being said, can someone confirm that no barcodes should be visible other than the FNSKUs? So essentially, there is no reason to print the UPCs, correct? I can assign them... but there is no point in printing if they have to be covered up?
I plan on printing and placing the FNSKUs myself to start. I only have 400 items total and am selling at $8.99, so I think I need to go with the more cost effective route.
I hope my question makes sense, thanks!
Also, I haven't even started looking into how to get my product to a warehouse.

well, unless you sell them as "generic" you need authorization from the manufacturer ( a contract) to rebrand. Yes, I understand they put your logo on it, you will still need a written contract.
If you sell them as generic, you ask for a GTIN exemption
Before you send anything to FBA, spend 2 hours reading forum posts, just search for FBA. Otherwise you are about to get rid of a lot of money and sleep
Your products are unlikely to sell, unless you pump a few thousand into advertising and you can't do that until you had some sales and get the Buy Box.
But you WILL pay storage fees and then removal, or long term storage fees........
I'd recommend you send no more than 10 of each to see how it goes....
I absolutely agree with @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EI
Test the waters by shipping things out yourself to make sure it sells, before you send in your item to FBA, which costs, then those storage fees, don't forget packaging & labeling your item. It all costs money.
After those fees, then there is the 15% commission to Amazon. I think you will only make $3 or $4 an item. It sounds like more of a hobby. I am not sure of the cost of the item & shipping from Alibaba.
I'm not sure of what you are selling, but if others are selling the same thing, with a different name, then you might have competition.
Think about how you can do this & make some money at the same time. Perhaps charge more. Try to make at least $10 an item, & try to sell many. I say this to help, perhaps you were not aware of all the fees involved. Good luck with your new business!
well, you have not told me if they are branded or going as generic.
For FBA, you must have FNSKU labels, besides some items, where they want UPC's. Welcome to the jungle
