Listing incorrectly flaggedl as a Pesticide.

Having trouble getting an item listed. I'm getting a message to update EPA number, this item is not regulated by EPA. I have submitted the documents from EPA stating not regulated, Amazon is still denying the listing.

Hang in there it can take some time. Let catalog team know you aren't regulated by the EPA. Good luck, You got this. We went through it too

Hi @Seller_mAZUbDgUeN7ID,

In the "Edit product details one at a time" section of Compliance ID Attribute – Pesticide Marking, there are instructions for updating your listing's Pesticide Marking attribute:

  1. Go to Inventory > Manage Inventory
  2. Edit your listing
  3. Select Advanced View and find the Compliance tab
  4. Choose "EPA Registration Number" from the dropdown
  5. Select "This product is not a pesticide or pesticide device"
  6. Leave the certification number field blank

Hope this helps get your listing back up and running!

Best regards, Michael

Along with updating the pesticide attributes on the compliance tab, there is a training course and test, I believe, that needs to be completed in Seller U.

I found it was impossible to argue the pesticide point. Just take the pesticide test and submit to the leviathan.

We had a similar problem due to our language in a product description. Can seller support tell you if you are making a product claim that's causing the flag? Ask them. You might be claiming something in your product description, like antibacterial, antifungal, or similar language, that would raise Amazon's pesticide flag. And don't go to the EPA if your product doesn't need registration.

I deal with this on average once a month, so I can definitely help you. What is the ASIN?

Good Evening @Seller_mAZUbDgUeN7ID,

I wanted to reach out to you as I just took a look at CASE ID ending in 9641 and I see that the partner team got back to you about a day ago on April 9th, 2025 and confirmed your ASIN ending V6L6 no longer has any restriction on it at this time.

With that great news, please have a fabulous rest of the week. Hope to see you around again on the forums sometime soon. 😊

Cheers, Cooper_Amazon

The sad part of this is, not that you and other sellers have been flagged but that INCORRECT FLAGGING for PESTICIDES has been going on for years-YEARS!! Crops up(couldn't help myself) every spring.

We were flagged over 6 years ago when at least a thousand sellers of a wide array of goods sent this platform into turmoil. We sell books-and every title that had anything to do w/ gardening/ bacteria-as in cleaning, even one's closets or the word green-as even Spring greens or Green House was flagged.

Apparently, this gazillion-dollar company is depending on the same, tired BOTS. If your listings mention any of the above; or the word anti-bacterial or any word relating to same, such as germs, mold, microbe, virus, spores.... your listings are toast until you take the test.

We finally kow-towed to the system. At the time, had an employee who is an organic chemist in his day job(and also our son) take the test to judge it's difficulty. He said it was basic but not everyone has a BS/MS in environmental chemistry. I ,myself, never took chemistry in either HS or university. Rather dissect a formaldehyde-laden fetal pig(twice). I passed-which doesn't say much for me or AMAZON's test.
