@Jim_Amazon@KJ_Amazon,
I have a number of items that were delivered one day AFTER the Promised Delivery Date.
According to Amazon's rules about On-Time Delivery Rate, I should be protected against OTDR defects if the following conditions are met (this is from Amazon's own page about OTDR policies (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G200847280):
"Shipped units will be considered as OTDR compliant if either the delivery occurred on or before the “Deliver by” date shown on Seller Central, or the following 3 conditions were met:
1) The shipped SKU was assigned to a shipping template with Shipping Settings Automation (SSA) enabled. [YES, ALL OF MY SKUs ARE ASSIGNED TO TEMPLATES WITH SSA ENABLED]
2) Your account has automated handling time enabled. [YES, MY ACCOUNT HAS AUTOMATED HANDLING TIME ENABLED]
3) You bought an “OTDR Protected” shipping label on Amazon Buy Shipping." [The OTDR-PROTECTED BADGE STARTED SHOWING UP 7/25/24 WHEN I PURCHASED LABELS ON Amazon Buy Shipping.]
My current OTDR shows 161 on-time out of 174 which comes to 92.5%. The time frame as of this writing is: "Promised Delivery Date : Jul 11, 2024 - Jul 24, 2024"
Every item in my current OTDR report as of 7/30/24 was shipped with labels I purchased through Amazon Buy Shipping. I buy all of my labels for Amazon orders via Amazon Buy Shipping.
So why am I not receiving OTDR protection? Is it because OTDR Protection only started on 7/25/24 when the badge appeared? If so, this should really have been made more clear to sellers.
I have been through many calls with Seller Support AND Account Health Support, and all are completely clueless or provide incorrect information.
Thank you for your help!
Hello @Seller_R2FVhqINv4BHP Thanks for that question about recent updates for On-Time Delivery Rate.
If you share a Case ID I will share the details with our partner team and ask them to review your metrics and those orders.

I am also facing similar issue. I buy all my shipping through amazon buy shipping and buy only those services which has tag of OTDR but my on time delivery still falls below 90% which has never ever happened in my 10 years selling history on amazon. currently I am seeing results from 14th to 27th July.
Hi, when you made your change, did you find that you were forced to choose a faster shipping method? For example: USPS Ground Shipping would be a normal option for you before but now you have to ship Priority Mail because of the SSA and Auto Handling Time Enabled. That's what I am afraid of.
It does not. There are many posts about this on the forums. Am not sure why the mods, are not being more transparent - OTDR, is going to hurt Amazon even further. Its bad enough not protecting sellers from AtoZ liar claims, or INR (did not receive claims) when there is evidence of item being delivered with tracking: Shareholders had a fit on Friday, with Amazon sales results: more and more sellers are refusing to list expensive items, so getting 15% on 10$ items is like the 99Cent store named Temu.
Here is what we just noticed and it makes no sense. We get the OTDR protection badge for anything we ship "standard" but every order that the buyer chooses to buy express shipping we do not see an OTDR badge. This makes no sense to us. We have the required settings in place that make us eligible for the protection so why is it only showing up for standard and not express shipments?
OTDR is a mess. All labels bought from Amazon or Veeqo (Amazon company), Sellers have no control over the shipment delivery times as all shipments were sent what Amazon suggested as shipping options and still OTDR getting adversely hit. Need to get this sorted soon please Amazon.
I am also facing exactly the same issue. I buy all my shipping through amazon buy shipping but my on time delivery still falls below 90% which has never ever happened before. OTDR has been a nightmare, as sellers have no control over the shipment delivery time. Currently I am seeing results dropping down from the last 2 weeks (7/26 to 8/2). Please, Amazon needs to get this solved urgent!!
That "protection" only applies to "Standard shipments", not Expedited not Free Econ not 2day/next day shipment. Are you using "standard shipment" for all your shipment?
Hello @Seller_R2FVhqINv4BHP Thanks you for your questions about OTDR protections and exemptions, and for continuing to post details.
Also, my main question is really this: WHEN does OTDR protection start? I have numerous other orders that are NOT Second Day/Premium shipping, but satisfy all the OTDR compliance criteria. But, all of these labels were purchased before 7/25/24, which is when the OTDR badge/icon started showing up on label purchase options.
Could you talk to the partner team to find out if that is why OTDR protections don't seem to be effective for many run-of-the-mill Standard Shipping orders (which are almost all of my shipments)? Please let me know if you need some of my Order IDs for these orders that were sent via Standard Shipping options.
"OTDR Protected" shipping services first became available on July 25. Any orders or shipments before July 25 would not have had OTDR Protected shipping, and would not meet the requirements for OTDR protection from late deliveries on units shipped through standard shipping.
Please note that the OTDR policy with minimum 90% OTDR and any related enforcement is not effective until September 25, and that your OTDR 14-day time window will soon be based on orders with a post-7/25 shipping date.
So why am I not receiving OTDR protection? Is it because OTDR Protection only started on 7/25/24 when the badge appeared? If so, this should really have been made more clear to sellers.
You are right. This should have been made clearer, and I shared your comments with our partner team. I'm sorry for the frustration this raised.
So, with a straight face, you are saying that in order to meet the metric designed to ensure "timely" delivery (based on Amazon-imposed delivery promises) that we must ship by a slower delivery service, even if Amazon is simultaneously saying that we should use a faster service to meet Amazon-imposed delivery promises?
Hello @Seller_r9wMm8LrE5iKj. No, I did not say that.
OTDR Protected labels are not available for Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) or Premium Shipping orders.
In the United States, Premium Shipping options include One-Day Shipping, and/or Two-Day Shipping, which seller can enable in their shipping settings.
