my sales are almost 90% down. is this because of because of microsoft internet issue effecting air travel, hospitals banks and other industries. is there anyone else getting less sales today than usual?
It's impossible to tell actually. Sales have been down compared to previous months/years for some time.
Over a long history (14+ years) a 'normal' Monday would be about 20 to 25 orders. Now it's more like 5 or 6 many weeks.
I'm down 38% for the year with no change in product lines or inventory levels. I've seen stories of large sellers being down 60% and more.
Internet outage, Temu, the economy, summer, the upcoming election -- who knows and who cares? Business is ugly at the moment. Hoping Back to School season helps A LOT!
today has been brutal (July 20) but yesterday, when the outage first occurred was ok... maybe slightly less views but still ok
Seeing similar challenges....might be a systems error:
- our health listing is up
- AMZ taking our $ for ads
- can see listing ranking, and ads showing, but unusual to see "zero" sales still by 13:30.
Instinct is that there is a systems glitch somewhere.
Are we sure it's not due to being right after Prime Day?
Sound like everyone is finding out what a recession is all about.
I've had almots no sales. I figured it's the Crowd Stike stuff, post-Prime Day fatigue, this crazy election cycle, TikTok Shop, and the public's realization that TEMU now has U.S. Warehouses for most items and orders now arrive in 3-5 days, competing directly with Amazon Prime at 1/2 the price. At this point I'm just getting ready for Chrismas. Summer 2024 has been a bust!
I've been keeping sales records since 2001. Things really started ramping in in 2013, peaked in 2017, declined a bit and held steady though 2021, and a slow decline since.
Sales were terrible the first 3 months of the year, but somewhat back to average of the last couple years. Sales in the last week have been a bit busy and other things had to be put off til later (organizing papers, paying bills, moving around inventory...)
I don't think the MSFT thing affected my orders at all, but seems that the returns due to people not reading the listing are higher than average
I was curious to see if there were any mentions of this here on the forums - have you seen any lingering effects from the outage last week?
- Bryce
Not sure if this helps at all as it's not on the Seller's side,
But as a buyer...I ordered some stuff on Prime Day (Wednesday) that was due to be delivered the following Monday, all FBA items.
I received an email, or some sort of notification, over the weekend telling me that due to some internal technical issues I may expect a delay in my orders delivery date.
I don't order stuff often, but this is the first time I've ever seen a message like that. I was thinking it would be one hell of a coincidence if it wasn't related to that crowd strike issue that happened on that same Friday.
Order still showed up by its ETA, so all was good.
On the selling side...our Saturday was unusually slow but Sunday was inversely unusually high, so they evened out. Was actually a decen't weekend compared to some others from this year.
