FBA capacity limit for new professional accounts

Hi folks,

We have upgraded our account from individual to professional last year in December but we could not manage to send any FBA inventory at that stage. We sent our first shipment in March 24 and it was a FCL shipment that occupied about 500cbft capacity. We were granted unlimited capacity due to the new account and we managed to check-in all the inventory.

As per capacity limit rules, any new accounts are allowed to build up the IPI score matrix for 39 weeks before the capacity limits are finalized for that account. In our case, in month of April they reduced the capacity limit to 236 cbft automatically and start of May we have been charged overaged fees for 264cbft. over the limits.

I believe we should not be incurring these charges as our account is not yet 39 weeks limit.

Can someone share their thoughts on this please, if our understanding is correct? what we should do?

Hey @Seller_jBaXzQbP1GGHv, this sounds like an issue that may need a deeper look. Have you opened a case with Seller Support? I'd like to review the details.

  • New professional selling accounts (active in FBA for less than 39 weeks) don’t receive FBA capacity limits. This allows you to establish your FBA sales record without limits so that we can determine how much capacity your FBA business needs as you grow.
  • Professional selling accounts (active in FBA for more than 39 weeks) receive capacity limits based on IPI score and sales performance.

You can view your capacity limits and capacity usage in the Capacity Monitor at the bottom of the FBA dashboard. Capacity limits are typically announced during the fourth week of the month.
