I have some FBM returns that are never returned and have FBM questions. Please help.
I have some orders that the 30 day window passes to return the product back to me. Can I just complete the return request and say that the "item was never returned" and they don't get the refund? Also, If a customer initiates a return request, They are only refunded when the product is scanned by the carrier. Is that correct? And are we charged for the return label or is the customer charged for the return label. Please help. Thank you.

If it's a Refund at First Scan return (RFS), then the refund will be automatic when it get shipped. If it's never returned, there will be no refund issued.
Regarding return labels, it depends on the reason for the return; for seller faulted returns, you will pay for it. But again, if it's never shipped, any charges for the label will be refunded to you eventually (if they were taken out up-front; Amazon seems inconsistent on how this works).
As for completing the return, I would suggest just ignoring it; it will eventually time-out and Amazon will cancel it. That way there are no issues for you if the customer suddenly remembers to ship it back right after you closed it.
And whatever you do, do NOT contact the customer regarding this. You WANT them to forget about it and never get their refund, so don't remind them!
(I'll add, I have no idea what other sellers see; for me, it's only about 50-60% of return requests actually ever get returned).

What Nisha said. And it is a 30 day window after the buyer receives it to request a return. They have an indefinite time to actually send it back.
