Retail Arbitrage

Just off a live on Tik Tok where a guy was charging only moms (yes that’s correct) Only moms a fee for a class on how to do retail arbitrage on Amazon. It’s almost sickening to know that there’s people out there scamming people. Everything he said was a complete lie. That you can buy your products from Walmart and target etc and resell it for a profit. I was livid!! To anyone who comes across this forum please do not buy courses from these people. They are literally setting you up to fail and then get suspended for not sourcing properly and taking the correct steps. Due to the fact he was targeting “moms” makes me want to call out this individual on the platform. So if you new here please go through Seller University and read it all the way through. Also if you have any doubt come to the forums and get your answer not a YouTuber who is literally scamming you to take a course to fail.

There is a lot of what you say going on within social media platforms.

They use the P. T. Barnum playbook, "There is a sucker born every minute", all for the propose on making themselves rich and famous.

We’ve seen this behavior on eBay for years, where low-quality overseas sellers scrape our Amazon listings and resell our manufactured products at inflated prices. These arbitrage listings dilute our Amazon SEO and frequently result in opened, unsellable returns when the eBay buyer realizes they were cheated and sends the product back to the eBay seller. We constantly submit eBay VeRO takedown requests, but more of these sellers always reappear within a week.

A greater concern is the newer variant of this scheme: standalone eCommerce sites offering Amazon-sourced products at extreme markups. These operations can appear surprisingly legitimate.

A recent thread was started by a seller whose products are listed without permission on (kateminimalist.com)—a polished Shopify storefront whose BBB listing shows an F rating and a long trail of negative reviews from customers reporting they were ripped off. This type of fraud, which repurposes legitimate sellers’ listings to lend credibility to the scammer, has the potential to cause lasting reputational harm to the brand owner.

It's not just Amazon scams. Online thieves are very devious at targeting specific groups of people, playing on their hopes or fears. This is why there are so many online scams targeting seniors who may be lonely, have grandchildren, can't figure out their computer, are worried about social security, etc.

Our local PD sometimes has an officer posted by a "bitcoin ATM" specifically to stop senior citizens who are convinced they need to convert cash to pay off some supposed bill or help their "friend" who needs an emergency medical procedure.

I've rarely found something at Walmart in the clearance that I could resell online for a profit.

#1. Stuff is there because no one is buying it

#2. Price is still too high to make a reasonable profit

#3. There isn't enought of one product to bother setting up a listing, and selling 5 items and making $1 on each on

I bought about $11k worth of stuff from a authorized wholesaler about 9 months ago. Amazon turned down my invoices. I've been reselling those elsewhere for pretty much a loss on every sale, and estimate I'm going to be down about $2,000 when everything is done.

I'm documenting everying thing and making a youtube video warning people that Amazon isn't the place to sell stuff anymore (and I've been here for 15 years, sold 17,000 orders worth $800k - and if *I* say its not a good idea, I have the experience to back it up.)

Starting about two weeks ago, eBay stopped cooperating with Amazon sellers whose listings are scraped and copied by low-quality overseas arbitrage sellers, and now refuses to take them down.

So now we can expect more opened, unsellable returns once those eBay buyers realize they were cheated and send the product back to the arbitrage seller.
