A competitor is counterfeiting our products

Our Amazon-registered brand sells hand-painted Egyptian papyrus.

A competitor is counterfeiting our products by printing them on a colored photocopy machine and selling them on Amazon in another country. This has resulted in three negative reviews on our listings, clearly stating the items are fake printed copies, not hand-painted.

These negative reviews are appearing on our Amazon US listings and cannot be removed.

Amazon seller support in this country has stated they will remove the infringing listing but cannot remove the reviews because our brand is not registered in that country.

We are questioning whether worldwide brand registration is necessary to protect our products and if Amazon supports the sale of counterfeit goods while protecting the infringing seller.

Hello @Seller_c3NJp0f82t2TH,

My name is Dougal from the Community Manager Team and I can provide some clarification.

Please review the Amazon Anti-Counterfeiting Policy and note that enrollment in Amazon Brand Registry is not required to report counterfeit product or Intellectual Property violations.

Please also note that Trademarks, Copyrights and Patents are registered with specific countries. In order to report that Intellectual Property is being infringed on, you do need to have registered Intellectual Property in the country you are reporting that infringement. You can find more on this via the Intellectual Property for Rights Owners help page.

Best, Dougal
