Latest Dropship and return scam
@KJ_Amazon
and any other moderator.
I've had this happen at least 4 times now on Amazon and 2 x's on another venue.
The scam is to dropship something(we sell plants) to a buying customer on another venue. Wait a little while and open a return for not as described or something like that.
When we receive the return which was already refunded on 1st scan, is a plastic envelop with either: a piece of paper, a card, balloons, or this time s paper notebook. see photos.
I've tried to report them all, and I wish I know what happened to them on here, at least on other venues you can see is No Longer Registered Member.
I've had one scammer who wasn't refunded and I refused to refund, they said they didn't do that and to check logistics, I didn't respond and they opened an atoz and won, I reported them as well as all the others. I hope amazon blocks them by IP address, so they have a hard time returning.
Has anyone else been getting this scam?

Plant_seller, can you share the Order IDs? Also are these from the same buyer? Another seller reported the pokemon notepad here as well.

THERE ARE WAYS to stop this, but Amazon chooses not to.
The Amazon Brand Transparency 'stickers' that they tout as the next best thing to combat/stop items that are counterfeit or not authentic- THAT should be the FIRST thing scanned if the item being returned had the sticker to begin with. If the product that was sold HAD the sticker or label, then the RETURNED ITEM should still have that same sticker, PERIOD. No sticker, NO REFUND, PERIOD! The product weight AND dimensions are ALSO on file with Amazon and if the weight is clearly off, then the return gets flagged/rejected. This isn't rocket science and yet people are acting like it is. Amazon has CLEARLY 'Jumped the Shark' and are in massive decline courtesy of poor administrative judgement and total LACK of respect for the sellers here. The reason people return bogus items here...is because Amazon LETS THEM!

If you have a safe-t claim already filed that would be helpful.

Hi folks,
If you have commented on here and shared your Order ID and photos of a return that included Pokémon notepads/deflated balloons, please know that I have included it in my escalation for further investigation. Thank you for your help in reporting suspected buyer abuse!
Respectfully,

As an update, the escalation is under investigation. Thank you again for coming to the Forums and reporting it! Should you receive more packages with Pokémon notepads or deflated balloons, please:
1) Tag me
2) Include the Order ID and Safe-T claim number (if applicable) associated with those items
3) Pictures of the notepads/balloons.

We have received EIGHT of this exact same type of scam so far. EXACT same spiral notebook, stickers, etc. in small white envelopes. Our products ship out at 4lb to 20 lbs in oversized boxes and they are sending back returns in the white envelopes with the 20lb return labels.

So I spoke the a SAFE-T claims specialist and asked what sellers can do in the meantime as they continue investigating: Sellers have the option to charge a re-stocking fee up-to a 100% for a materially different return. If the buyer raises an A-to-Z claim and is granted, sellers can appeal to the claim decision via Seller Central. In case when a seller fails to issue the refund in the same case and Amazon issues it on their behalf, they can file a SAFE-T claim.

Very very very common scam. It's been around for a long time. Amazon knows about it, so does Walmart, but they won't do anything.
look up “Chimicles Walmart ORC lawsuit”..... you may find it interesting.

We are also getting 4-5 of these a week. We sell hardware store like items, and these fricking scammers keep our products, start a return, and several have put trash, low dollar items that aren't ours, or greeting cards back in a envelope. 99% of what we ship is in boxes, we have photos from UPS delivery people showing our box on the customer's (SCAMMER'S) porch, and then they return the garbage in an envelope. We then have to fight amazon on virtually every order, losing on freight there, the item, and the wasted freight back. Absolutely mind boggling that AMAZON REFRAINS FROM HELPING SELLERS IN THESE SITUATIONS.
