There is no battery. Why has button cell's compliance failed?

Three of our products are candlesticks, which don't contain candles at all, but Amazon caught the compliance problem of consumer button cell, and the same product explained that it was misjudged and passed the other three, so please refer to our case ID:17005576021 17017396621 17017453901 17017453781

Please let a professional audit.

Hi @Seller_ZTFFVupPl9ZVd,

Looking at the "Button cell and coin batteries" help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GUBLQYWAJDBADUVK), I notice that "flameless candles" are specifically listed as an example of products that commonly contain button cell batteries. This might explain why your candlesticks were flagged.

To resolve this:

1.) If your candlesticks truly don't contain any batteries, you should appeal through Account Health:

  • Go to Performance > Account Health
  • Under "Manage your compliance", click "Product Compliance Requests"
  • Click "Add/Appeal Compliance"
  • Clearly explain that these are traditional candlesticks without any electronic components

2.) Include clear product descriptions in your listings that specify these are traditional, non-electronic candlesticks to prevent future misclassifications.

Kind regards, Michael

Good Afternoon @Seller_ZTFFVupPl9ZVd,

I took a look at the Cases you shared above and it seems like you are selling electric candles that do appear to have some kind of LED lighting to them.

  • How are are they powered?
  • Do they come with a charger? Or is a battery required?

This is the information that the Button Cell Battery team needs a better understanding of and I'd recommend providing additional evidence in your appeals that shows the specific nature of the product. This could include manuals, schematics, photos, or a video recording showing your product does not have a button cell battery.

Hope that helps answer your question. Feel free to reach back out if you require more assistance.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

Good Evening @Seller_ZTFFVupPl9ZVd,

Taking a look at the latest updates on your cases you shared above:

  • CASE ID 17017453901 associated to ASIN ending in M63Q was reinstated ✅
  • CASE ID 17017453781 associated to ASIN ending in J13J was reinstated ✅
  • CASE ID 17072520891 associated to ASIN ending in G34M has been escalated ❌
  • CASE ID 17005576021 associated to ASIN ending in CHKR has been escalated ✅

Appreciate the pictures and the additional context which I have attached to my escalation to the Compliance team. They should get back to us within the next few business days. Until then, have a wonderful rest of the week and take care.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

Good Morning @Seller_ZTFFVupPl9ZVd,

I wanted to let you know that all your ASINs should be reinstated now as they do not require compliance information at this time for button cell battery. With that great news, I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day and take care.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
