Yes, a more efficiant system was replaced with a different looking less efficient system.
Yes this is how progress works. Things are optimized over time and improved until further improvement has diminishing returns and turns counter productive eventually reducing efficiency and effectivness.
This is made worse by the scale of a companies cash flow, profit and size as progress is incentivized socially and financially.
Everything in our culture says "innovate" and "progress" and we will do that.

100% agree, literally nothing about this new interface helps 3P sellers.
This is the very definition of shovelware; some internal team needs to justify their existence so they just put out some junk code to satisfy their corporate masters.
