New Fee Explainer tool breaks down charges to your selling account

To help you better understand the fees that are charged to your selling account, we've launched a Fee Explainer tool.

For each fee type, the tool provides a definition, the relevant attributes or variables, and the calculation. Collectively, these details explain why you were charged a certain amount.

The tool covers the following fee types:

  • Subscription
  • Referral
  • Variable closing
  • Fixed closing
  • Refund administration
  • Customer return
  • High-return rate processing
  • Removal
  • Disposal

We'll add explainers for more fee types this year.

To access the Fee Explainer, go to the Transaction view of your Payments dashboard, select a transaction, and click the fee amount.

For more information, go to the Fee Explainers help page.

Yes, this info is wildly helpful (this is one of four bills on a single transaction):

Other chargeback

-$80.00

Other chargeback

-$27.38

Other chargeback

-$69.56

Other chargeback

-$8.30

Thanks for continuing to provide such excellent data, knowledgeable service, and a level playing field that is not at all an anti-trust nightmare held together by lobbying dollars and bending a knee to Our Orange Overlord. I look forward to the continuous improvements on the platform, which has only gotten more reasonable over time. Oh, and your bots are great too. And I like how Mods are willing to speak their minds, instead of just toeing the company line.

I particularly like how our cratered sales here have given me so much free time. Keep telling us what an excellent job you're doing, we really enjoy the irony-free experience.

I visited the page referenced in this notification (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G201822160) and I found no reference to the "High-return rate processing" fee type. Can you please reference a public facing Amazon reference page that documents the "High-return rate processing" fee?

Hello Dear @News_Amazon!

Perhaps you can provide an explanation, as to why Amazon Wrongfully categorizes products into more expensive "Referral Fee Categories", while keeping the correct category on customer facing platform?

-- Case in point: Products being "Recategorized" by Amazon from Electronics > Photo, to "Home & Kitchen".

Yet, lo and behold the Customer Facing Category is still displaying Electronics > Photo!

The difference due to this back-end "Recategorization" resulted in a Wrongfully applied referral fee that is in excess of 7% from the original (correct) category.

- The answer is very simple: Amazon will defraud and wrongfully apply fees against that is clearly in violation of Amazon's Terms of Service (TOS), breach of contract and agreement with 3PL sellers.

As long of the Federal Trade Commission, does not take Amazon to task, Amazon will continue fleecing 3PL sellers.

Here's a good explanation of your fees - WE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR OUTRAGEOUS FEES, YOUR LACK OF VALID SERVICE, AND CHARGING US OVER 40 PERCENT IN FEES!!!

That breaks it down to reality.

The biggest paint point for most sellers are all the various "Other" fees. The "Other" fee is what we want to know about. I see it has conveniently been left out of this.....tool. Here's an idea. You get your 15%, that's it. That would make everything much easier and honest.
