Malicious and false comments

I received several unverified purchase reviews less than 20 days after the release of my new product. The reviewers claimed that the odor was still strong after 2 weeks of my product dispersing and that the 2 month shopping experience was unsatisfactory.

These fake reviews were posted on the same day and opening the homepage of these reviewers revealed that they had posted dozens of fake reviews on the same day, all of which were unverified purchases.

These fake reviews directly lowered my rating from 4.9 to 4.5 and halved the visible order volume

I clicked on the REPORT button next to the comments in hopes of dealing with these fake comments. However nothing happened except after a survey email that would have comforted me.

The Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) final rule banning fake reviews and testimonials went into effect on October 21, 2024 . Amazon doesn't seem to mind ignoring this new law.

Reports need to be filed if Amazon does not respond. Give them 4 weeks to respond to your report. Then, Report to the FTC

reportfraud.ftc.gov/assistant

file a fraud complaint against Amazon (under "something else") that you reported a violation of law and they have not responded.
