got two books on the same order

I received a order with two books on it with 3.99 shipping on both. My question is should I send them in the same package or ship them separate ?

If it's one order, ship them together. If you like, you can issue a partial refund to the customer (keeping in mind that shipping the second book is not free), and of course, tell the customer what you are doing. Of course, there is no requirement for you to do this; so do what you like.

If separate orders, then you need to ship them separately. Otherwise Amazon will think one of them never shipped, and will ding your metrics.

I have always combined orders, even when they were separate orders. In 10 years never had an issue. I don't charge for shipping, so I never issued any refunds. I just copied the tracking number to the second order...

...and appreciate both replies above. If separate orders, please do make sure to input tracking on both if you follow the second reply here!
