Why have us put in how many boxes and what goes in each box if you wont' give us the amazon optimized shipments unless we divy things up perfectly. You expect our employees to really keep testing the waters with how many boxes, and what goes in what box to ALLOW us to get amazon optimized shipments? This is like playing darts blindfolded. You guys give us the option of amazon optimized shipments, but only if we hit the right number of boxes and right products in each box. This is a huge waste of man power and time. It's clear you guys just want the inventory placement fees, but this could be streamlined much easier. I don't know you how expect people to retain a profit doing FBA when overnight our shipping fee's just went up 200-500%. This doesn't make any sense.
Why not let us pick amazon optimized shipments. We tell yo uwhat we are shipping and then you tell us where it all goes to, back like the good ol' days. But having to tell you how many boxes, what goes in each box until we get it PERFECT for amazon optimized shipments is just crazy. You gave us this option, but make us guess how to get access to it.

Exactly. I can not believe how convoluted this new system is, we ship orders with hundreds of different SKU's. Now we have to partiton skus throughout 5 different FC's. This is A MASSIVE INCREASE in labor costs not including the absurd increase of sending 10+ pallets to 5 locations, which used to cost 440 dollars, now costing clost to 2k.

They already have an estimate of how many sellers will drop out before they even launched this plan and they found the level of drop outs to be acceptable

I agree and I think it should be an option (and not mandatory) Something you can opt in just like amazon optimized shipments that way sellers can figure out which system works better for them.

Why not my shipments just go to the warehouse closest to me and stay there as many items I sell PRIME there are no other PRIME sellers I do not care on shipping faster that is a waste of resources transferring items wasteful so simply 1 warehouse 1 location shipping time is what is is and that is that and it is better for the environment.

Interestingly enough, I tried to get the Amazon Optimized Shipments today. Did 5 boxes which it was then offered.
However, it was cheaper to do the "EAST" option with 3 boxes overall due to lower shipping charges, even with the fee added.

Its not ideal but I'm making it work. Dropping the placement fees puts me equal to where I was before with the increased shipping cost and sometimes I even save money.
Is there a way to print multiple shipments at once? It use to be when Amazon would sent the boxes to multiple locations all the labels would come out together. Now I have to click print on the 4-5 shipments.

You aren't missing anything. The current way they are doing it is a kabuki dance. You really don't know if you will get the Amazon optimized shipment until you get to the end of the workflow.
The old "good ol' days" way you mention was also a pain though. Often Amazon would want 2 small items to go to a single warehouse. Total joke.
Perhaps a middle ground where they scan for the splits during AND after telling them the box size... We select Optimized shipments up front, but Amazon warns us during the workflow that we will need 2 boxes of SKU XYZ, and 3 boxes of SKU ABC to get the optimized shipment. Then we can have a couple templates ready in the workflow for those SKUs to make it meet the requirement. And we can still see the other options at the end if we change our mind and are willing to pay the placement fee. I think this is best way with these new fees. Maximum transparency, no kabuki dance.
I have had success the last few days with just shooting for a few boxes of each SKU, while also having at least 4 boxes total. Each time I have done this so far I've gotten the option for Amazon optimized shipments with no fee.
This has resulted in fewer but larger shipments. Overall not good for customers, because I cant ship quickly in small "top up" quantities on a whim. Now I have to wait to build up 4 boxes worth. Overall this new change is not very "customer focused" I think. It will make it harder to stock many ASINs.
