Accidental repeat SKU for a new product replaced and obliterated original product listing...
Accidental repeat SKU for a new product replaced and obliterated the listing for the original product assiged to that SKU... I was NOT given a heads-up about using a repeat SKU in the listing process. It accepted the SKU even though it was already in use and there is seemingly no record of what product was originally associated with the SKU. Does anyone know how to identify it? Customer support could not. Thank you.

I had the exact thing happen a few years ago when Amazon thought it was a good idea to discontinue the "alert" of a SKU-already-in-use. This feature seems to come and go because that's one crack team they got there...
But since I've always kept my own personal inventory spreadsheet, I was able to find what had been deleted/overridden. (It was a mess to fix, though.) The info was also in my original Listing Confirmation email. Might you still have that?
I wonder if you tried again with Seller Support and got a different rep you might have better luck. They once found something for me regarding a long-gone-from-the-catalog ASIN. Everything is still there, it seems, you just have to find someone who knows where/how to look.
I now manually check every SKU I use before I hit the "Save" button, and will continue to do so until the end of time.
