I plan to downgrade from a professional selling account to an individual account and wish to avoid the problems I see in other messages. I don't use FBA and don't believe that I have any issues where Amazon is holding funds in reserve. I sell only books and media. I plan to quickly delete all my inventory under $25 and will then have less than 400 items for sale. I've been selling books and media since 2009, but I no longer have enough sales to justify a professional account.
Since the discussion boards have always been helpful, I'm hoping for any advice about potential problems and how to avoid them. I know that others have asked the same question, but I also know that Amazon frequently changes its policies.
Thanks for any help. Michigan Librarian
The only real problem I've ever read about is doing the identity verification again, which can take a while to get through.
Good luck, I hope it all goes smoothly.
You forgot "without telling us." 😂
I'm sure you've factored in the loss of Buy Box eligibility and shipping templates in your decision.
That's all I got. Please let us know how it goes!

Hi there, CR here and wanted to quickly hop in here. To downgrade from Professional to Individual plan you can follow these steps:
You can also take a look at the Selling plan comparison here.

I recently downgraded after 20 years with a Pro Account (also media) and I did not have any problems.
I (our company) has been here on Amazon for well over 10 years. We have (nearly) never, ever had, seller support of any kind. We do not even try anymore.
I am fine with that, is what it is.
The rare exception was 6 or so years ago when we were in Brand registry 1.0 about the time when it went to Brand registry 2.0 we had to change one of our our brand names. Very nice USA based representatives that helped us through that.
