If I rebrand, do I need to make new listings?

we are thinking of rebranding and changing our brand name (which we will also get trademarked). However everything else about our products will stay the same. Would we need to make new listings? We don't want to lose all our reviews and rankings

YES! You cannot rebrand a listing. Even trying to do so will get you suspended.

Hi @Seller_hZCBL3bm2ORR5,

I understand your concern about keeping your reviews and rankings while rebranding. Let me share what Amazon's policies say about this.

According to the Product Detail Page Rules (link), under the "Policies for editing detail pages" section: "Any major Brand Name change requests are considered re-branding and will not be supported... we ask that you create a new ASIN for the new product."

There might be a workaround if your brand name change is minor. Under the "Changes to an ASIN's brand name" section (link), Amazon allows "minor corrections such as fixing typos, capitalization, and issues with legal abbreviations" through Selling Partner Support.

I'd suggest first checking if your rebranding might qualify as a minor correction. If it's a more substantial change, you'll want to carefully weigh the benefits of the new brand against starting fresh with new listings.

Hope this helps explain your options!

Hi @Seller_hZCBL3bm2ORR5

Sandy from the Community manager here.

Please visit the Policies for editing detail pages.

If you choose to re-brand a product, refer to Amazon Brand Name Policy page for minor Brand name changes. Any major Brand Name change requests are considered re-branding and will not be supported. To protect Customer trust and ensure catalog quality, we ask that you create a new ASIN for the new product.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Sandy
