Read onlyi have been running a 10% discount coupon on 20 asin's for the last few years. Recently received this error message:
No Reference Price available ASINs must have a Reference Price Learn more about Reference Prices
coupon has been suppressed, is there any fix for this?
thank you
We also would like to know the answer to this as we have faced the same error message.
Our ASINs involved have been on Amazon for 13 years. How can Amazon not have a Reference Price?
If the Reference Price is defined by the "Was Price" and/or the "Recent Low Price" on a rolling 90 day period, then we should easily qualify.
Please provide a definition for "Reference Price".
Our ASINs
The forum moderators are not responding to this big mess, and neither is Amazon. I hope they loss a lot of money from people not being able to run coupons for their customers. Totally shocked at lack of support here
@SEAmod
Same issue for us. Ironically, sales of our coupon items on our website and other marketplaces have increased over the last week, so it does not seem like a loss (except for Amazon's loss of %), but it is annoying.
We have same problem and started a case. Of course received the standard template answer (several times). Then we called Amazon and the support person told us that it was because the price was not "refreshed". He claimed to do price "refresh" and all will be good in 24-48 hours. This was 4 days ago and the problem still persists. We gave up. Talking to these people (when you can understand what they are saying) is like "talk to the hand" :-)
I agree with all posts, at this point amazon is not allowing anyone to run a coupon. If anybody knows a fix please advise. It is too bad, because not only did we lower our price recently, we also wanted to add a 10% off coupon to increase volume
Same here, been running coupons since the feature was first introduced on Amazon years ago.
The only coupons we have that are active, are products with very recent sales. We don't really need coupons for products that are active, we need coupons to promote sales on items that are not very active.
Also, for certain type of products, like gold jewelry as an example, price can change on a daily basis, how does a Reference Price apply in this case? Does Amazon keep track of precious metals prices now?
Not to mention, this also creates massive high price alerts on items, with no aparent fix. Strange!
Amazon Policy on Reference Prices
In many product categories, you have the option of supplying a reference price, such as a List Price (for example, a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price or MSRP). Reference prices are displayed in several places, including on product detail pages and in search results for your products, to show savings to customers.
The List Price you provide should represent the price at which you, or other retailers or sellers, have recently made or intend to make substantial sales of the product in question.
You also are responsible for ensuring that the reference prices you provide to us remain current.
If you do not have a ready-to-provide List Price, a possible value could be the first price at which you offered or will offer the product. You can also provide a value of 0 to indicate you do not have a List Price. If Amazon cannot verify your List Price, we might not use it.
Other reference prices
A Was Price is automatically computed and changes over time. The Was Price is determined using the 90-day median price paid by customers for the product on Amazon.. We exclude prices paid by customers for the product during a limited time deal.
For more information on how to add list prices or what values to provide, go to Show a reference price on your products by proving a List Price.
Some variations of a product are successfully being able to run a coupon, but other child asins of the same product are not and no difference in settings between them on pricing etc, so odd.
