Why Showing Up in Person at Amazon Seller Events Has Moved My Business Forward

Hi everyone, I'm Sarah, Founder of Sarah Wells Bags. I've been selling on Amazon since 2013, and if I had to name one thing that's moved my business forward outside of the daily work, it's showing up to Amazon's seller events in person.

I know not everyone can travel, and plenty of value comes from right here in the forums. But when I can be in the room, a few things happen that are hard to replicate from behind a screen.

First, I get problems unstuck. At Amazon Accelerate, the Seller Café is set up for exactly this. You can bring a real question about your account, your listings, or your strategy and talk it through with someone in person. I always walk in with my questions written down ahead of time so I don't waste the chance. A short conversation has sorted out things for me that a string of cases couldn't.

Second, I meet the people behind the programs I use. Getting face time with team members across different parts of Amazon helps me see how the pieces fit together, and it gives me a real person to picture when I'm working through something later. Those connections have made me a sharper seller.

Third, and maybe most underrated, I learn from other sellers. Some of my best ideas have come from hallway conversations with people who had already worked through the exact thing I was stuck on. Sellers are generous with what they know, and being in the room gets you access to that.

If you're on the fence about going to one of these events, my honest take is that the connections and the problem solving are worth the trip on their own, before you count a single session.

On that note, the Seller Growth Summit is this week and I'll be there (and speaking during the first session-so excited). And I'm already looking ahead to Accelerate in September. Who else is planning to go? Drop a comment with the event you'll be at and your product category, and let's start a list of who to look for once we arrive. Half the value is knowing who's in the room.

The forums used to be this helpful.

Never attended a live event, but thank you for sharing.

It's sad when you have to get airline tickets and hotel reservations to get one or 2 problems a year solved.....

There are multiple online groups that give you tons of hints and help and information, right from your desk. So the only thing you get for all that money is long waiting times, faces that change by the time you have your next problem and if you are lucky, an issue fixed that should have never been unfixed and only confirms what everyone already knows. They CAN fix stuff, they just don't bother.

I would like to express my strong interest in attending the upcoming Seller Growth Summit. As a new seller, I am highly motivated to learn from the industry experts, discover best practices, and connect with the community to build a solid foundation for my business.

Unfortunately, I see that tickets are currently sold out.

I have attended a couple. I meet with Amazon reps on 2 seperate occassions with different issues. Each time I was promised a followup with the person I met in person at the event. No one followed through either time.

I dont see the point in going.

Hello,

Where are the events located and where can I find the information? I understand one event is sold out, but I am interested in other events. I am a new seller, so it would be exciting for me to attend if possible.

Spot on, Sarah. Hiding behind a laptop has a distinct operational ceiling. A short, face-to-face conversation at an event can clear up complex listing blocks and catalog issues faster than a month-long string of automated Seller Support cases.

I originally planned to be in the room for Amazon Accelerate this September representing our portfolio firm, Freedom Brands. However, I have a hard calendar conflict as I'll be leading a global eye care mission trip to Turks and Caicos that exact week.

Even though I can't make this one live, I highly encourage any 6-7-and-8-figure operators sitting on the fence to book the ticket. The breakthrough insights you get from hallway conversations with other multi-brand sellers are worth the price of admission alone.

Have an incredible summit this week, Sarah, and crush your speaking session!

The level and quality of service/support from Amazon on any support avenue is far lower than what we have to do to run our businesses here. Disgusting. May you never have the issues others face here.
