What is a full-size crib?

A full-size baby crib is a bed designed to provide sleeping accommodations for an infant, and intended for use in the home, in a childcare facility, family childcare home, or place of public accommodation. A full-size baby crib measures within two inches of the following interior dimensions: 71 ±1.6 cm (28 ± 5/8 in.) wide as measured between the innermost surfaces of the crib sides and 133 ±1.6 cm (52 3/8 ± 5/8 in.) long as measured between the innermost surfaces of the crib end panels, slats, rods, or spindles. The federal safety standard applies to full-size cribs manufactured or imported after June 28, 2011.

What is a non-full-size crib?

A non-full-size baby crib is a bed designed to provide sleeping accommodations for an infant, and intended for use in the home, for travel, in a childcare facility, in a family childcare home, or in a place of public accommodation. A non-full-size baby crib must have an interior length dimension either greater than 139.7 cm (55 in.) or smaller than 126.3 cm (49 3/4 in.), or, an interior width dimension either greater than 77.7 cm (30 5/8 in.) or smaller than 64.3 cm (25 3/8 in.), or both. The definition includes portable cribs that can be folded or collapsed, a crib pen, specialty cribs, oversized cribs, and undersized cribs. The federal safety standard applies to full-size cribs manufactured or imported after June 28, 2011.

What is Amazon’s policy on full-size cribs and non-full-size cribs in the United States?

If you are selling full-size cribs and/or non-full-size cribs, you may be asked to provide documents to confirm the safety and compliance of your products. Amazon requires documentation that indicates testing compliance with standards or regulations for each product you are applying to sell. Amazon may request these documents at any time so we recommend you have them easily accessible.

What information do I need to provide to Amazon when requested?

Amazon’s policies require that full-size cribs and non-full-size cribs sold through the Amazon store meet the required certification standards required by law. Have the following documents available at all times. If Amazon contacts you, please submit the following information to child-safety@amazon.com .

  1. Company Name
  2. Seller ID
  3. Email Address
  4. Phone Number
  5. A list of ASINs you are applying to sell.
  6. Product manuals in for all the full-size cribs and/or non-full-size crib ASINs you are applying to sell.
  7. Product images. Images must include all relevant:
    • Safety information
    • Compliance marking
    • Product hazard warnings
  8. A Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) for the ASINs you are applying to sell.
  9. Test reports from a CPSC-accepted lab confirming that each product was tested to the requirements listed above.

Note: Test Reports must contain images of the tested products including packaging and warning labels. The images on the test reports must confirm the product(s) is (are) the same as the images provided on the detail page. You certify that all materials you submit are true, authentic, and accurate. Amazon may remove your selling privileges for failing to meet these safety requirements.

What will happen if I do not follow Amazon's policy on selling full-size cribs and non-full-size cribs?

If you do not provide the required information, Amazon may:

  • Cancel your listing
  • Suspend your listing privileges
  • Suppress your ASIN(s)
  • Withhold your funds
  • Pursue civil or criminal legal action

Amazon reserves the right to take any further actions that are necessary and to make judgements in its sole discretion about whether or not a listing is appropriate.
