Children’s sleepwear sizes 9 months to 6X means any clothing up to and including size 6X intended to be worn primarily for sleeping or activities related to sleeping. Sizing is measured with respect to infants, babies, toddlers and children—not adults. Examples of children’s sleepwear include nightgowns, pajamas, robes, and similar or related items. The definition does not include diapers, underwear, infant garments sized for babies nine months or smaller, or tight-fitting garments as defined by 16 CFR § 1615.1.

What is children’s sleepwear, sizes 7 to 14?

Children’s sleepwear sizes 7 to 14 means clothing from size 7, up to and including size 14, intended to be worn primarily for sleeping, or activities related to sleeping. Sizing is measured with respect to girls and boys apparel, not adults. Examples of children’s sleepwear include nightgowns, pajamas, robes, and similar or related items. The definition does not include diapers, underwear, or tight-fitting garments as defined by 16 CFR § 1616.2.

What is Amazon’s policy on selling children’s sleepwear in the United States?

If you are selling children’s sleepwear, you may be asked to provide documents to confirm the safety and compliance of your products. Amazon requires documentation that indicates your products have been tested to the specific standards or regulations for each product you are applying to sell.

What information do I need to provide to Amazon when requested?

Amazon’s policies require that children’s sleepwear sold through the Amazon website meet the safety and compliance standards required by law. If you are contacted by Amazon, please submit the following information to child-safety@amazon.com.

  1. Company Name
  2. Seller ID/Vendor ID
  3. Email Address
  4. Phone Number
  5. A list of ASINs you are applying to sell
  6. Product images. Images must include all relevant:
    • Safety information
    • Compliance markings
    • Product hazard warnings
  7. A Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) for the ASINs you are applying to sell.
  8. Test reports from a CPSC-accepted lab confirming that each product was tested to applicable requirements.

What will happen if I do not follow Amazon’s policy on selling children’s sleepwear?

If you do not provide the required information, Amazon may:

  • Cancel your listing
  • Suspend your listing privileges
  • Suppress your ASIN(s)

Amazon reserves the right to take any further actions that are necessary and to make judgements in its sole discretion about whether or not a listing is appropriate.

How do I request removal of my products from Amazon Fulfilment centers?

If you are unable or unwilling to appeal the suppression on your ASIN(s), you have 30 days to create removal orders on your products from our fulfillment centers. Please visit the following help pages for more information:
