Error 990003

What causes Error 990003?

This error occurs when your Product ID (for example, UPC, EAN, JAN, and ISBN) corresponds to the Product ID of an existing ASIN, and the MAIN image you’re submitting contradicts the MAIN image that is already present for that particular ASIN.

Error message:

The MAIN image that you have submitted shows a product that is different than the product represented by the ASIN's existing MAIN image. To resolve this problem, remove or update your contribution's MAIN image so that it shows the correct product, or update your contribution's identifying information (for example, UPC or ASIN) so that it corresponds to the product shown in your MAIN image.

How to solve and prevent Error 990003

  • Check to make sure that the Product ID you had provided is correct. If it’s incorrect, enter the correct Product ID in your file and resubmit.
  • If you have provided the correct Product ID, follow these steps:
    1. Update the MAIN image in your file to one that shows the same product as the image shown on the product detail page for the ASIN and resubmit your file; OR
    2. Remove the image from your file and resubmit.

If the product image in the Amazon catalog appears to be incorrect, contact Selling Partner Support.

Note: A common cause of this error is the result of manufacturers reusing UPCs or EANs (for example, in apparel, barcodes are sometimes reused after 3 years). Please ensure you are matching your product to the correct ASIN.
