Multiple return addresses

You can set a default return address for all marketplaces in a given region, default addresses for each marketplace, or set overrides to support multiple return addresses in the US marketplace only.

There are two ways to configure multiple return addresses:

Offer return addresses that depend on certain criteria

Important: As soon as you create or modify a rule, it will apply to all return requests for orders placed from that time. Newly created rules will not alter returns requests on orders already placed.

  1. Go to Settings and select Account Info.
  2. On the Seller Account Information page, select Return Address under the Shipping and Returns Information section.
  3. On the Returns Settings page, select Return Address Settings.
  4. If you need to create a new address, select the Manage your return address link, then enter a unique address name and the actual address. Alternatively, you can skip step 4 and select an existing address.
    Note: You cannot use an existing address name unless the original entry is deleted.
  5. Click Set these overrides for the applicable Marketplace.
    Note: You can add up-to 15 rules in each marketplace.
  6. Under Exception Rules, select Add New Rule.
  7. Under New Rule:
    1. Enter rule name.
    2. Enter rule definition/criteria by selecting either product categories. (optional)
    3. Select reasons for return. (optional)
    4. Enter price range or select all. (optional)
    5. Click Change address and then select an address.
    6. Click Save.
To edit an existing rule, click on the rule, select Edit, modify the settings, and then click Save.

To delete a rule, click on the rule, select Delete, and then confirm that you want to delete the rule.

Note: If you set up multiple rules with similar criteria for different return addresses, we will return the product to the address with the highest match based on the criteria. For example, if Rule 1 is GL: Shoes, Reason Code: Too Big, and Unit Price Range: $25 - $50, and Rule 2 is GL: Shoes, Reason Code: All, and Unit Price Range: $0 - $50, a return request for GL: Shoes, Reason Code: Too Big, and Unit Price: $30, will select Rule 1.

Offer return addresses for specific SKUs

The newly added SKUs and return addresses in the feeds will apply to all return requests for orders placed after the feed is successfully processed.

Note: You can upload up to 49,999 SKU overrides in a single file. To configure more overrides, submit more than one template.

  1. Go to Settings and select Account Info.
  2. On the Seller Account Information page, select Return Address under the Shipping and Returns Information section.
  3. On the Returns Settings page, click Return Address Settings.
  4. If you need to create a new address, click the Manage your return address link, then enter a unique address name and the actual address. Alternatively, you can skip step 4 and select an existing address.
    Note: You cannot use an existing address name unless the original entry is deleted.
  5. On the Returns Settings page, click Return Attribute Overrides.
  6. Download the Returns Attributes template.
  7. Follow the steps on the Instructions tab, under How to prepare your Return Address Template.
  8. Enter the SKU, and the name of the address specified in step 3. Do not enter the actual address, only the address name.
    Note: To use the default return address for the specific SKU, specify the SKU and select Yes in the Remove Return Address Override column.
  9. Once you have completed this template, ensure that the ReturnAddress page is the tab displayed before you save. Save as a tab delimited (*.txt) file.
  10. Upload the file on the Return Attribute Overrides page.

To disable the address for a specific SKU

If you enabled a specific return address for a SKU, follow these steps to disable it.

  1. Go to Settings, select Returns Settings, and then click Return Attribute Overrides.
  2. Download the Returns Attributes template.
  3. Select the ReturnAddress tab.
  4. Enter the SKU and then enter Yes in the Remove Return Address Override column.
  5. Once you have completed this template, ensure that the ReturnAddress page is the tab displayed before you save. Save as a tab delimited (*.txt) file.
  6. Upload the file on the Return Attribute Overrides page.
