Meltable FBA inventory

Before listing products with Fulfillment by Amazon, it’s important to know what’s suitable for fulfillment and what isn’t. Be sure to review the Help pages below for additional product requirements and restrictions:

Meltable inventory requirements

FBA accepts products that are subject to melting between October 1 and April 30 of each calendar year. Any meltable inventory in our fulfillment centers after May 1 is marked as unfulfillable and disposed of. Meltable inventory that arrives at fulfillment centers between May 1 and September 30 is marked as unfulfillable and disposed of.

“Meltable” refers to heat-sensitive products that are eaten or swallowed, including chocolate, yogurt, gummies, and probiotics. Chocolates, gummies, yogurt-covered items, and probiotics will not be fulfilled through FBA from May 1 through September 30.

Products in fulfillment centers must be able to withstand a minimum temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit and a maximum temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit during the product’s shelf life without hurting its quality.

Note: If you believe your product should be exempt from the meltable category, provide a letter from the manufacturer confirming that the ASIN can be stored at a maximum temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods. Send this letter to Seller Support.

Box markings must not show storage temperature requirements unless those requirements are explicitly stated as from 50 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Products requiring refrigeration, air conditioning, or freezing are prohibited all year long. Perishable products, including but not limited to, fresh meats, fruits, or vegetables are also prohibited throughout the year.

Removing meltable inventory

Removal orders for meltable inventory must be submitted before May 1 of each calendar year. For more information, see Remove inventory from a fulfillment center.
