Food products: USDA Country of Origin Labeling

Any "covered commodity" as defined in the USDA Country of Origin Labeling requirements ("COOL") must include all information required by COOL on the physical product label of the covered commodity.

Covered commodities include unprocessed:

  • Muscle cuts of lamb, chicken, and goat;
  • Ground lamb, chicken, and goat;
  • Wild and farm-raised fish and shellfish;
  • Perishable agricultural commodities (fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables);
  • Peanuts, pecans, and macadamia nuts; and
  • Ginseng.
