Create new campaigns with bulk operations

You can create new campaigns in bulk using a spreadsheet.

To start this process download a blank bulk spreadsheet template by clicking Download a bulk operations template in Bulk operations.

  1. Open the file in a spreadsheet application such as Excel.
  2. Add your campaign information to the spreadsheet by entering the following information in the second row of the spreadsheet. All columns not listed below should be left blank in this row.
    1. Record Type: Campaign
    2. Campaign: Enter a campaign name
    3. Campaign Daily Budget: Enter a daily budget
    4. Campaign Start Date: Enter a start date
    5. Campaign End Date: Enter an end date or leave it blank to run the campaign continuously
    6. Campaign Targeting Type:Enter Manual or Auto
      Note: For Sponsored Display Views audience campaigns, select Auto.
    7. Campaign Tactic (if creating a Sponsored Display Campaign): Enter Views (CPC)
    8. Campaign Status: Enter Enabled, Paused, or Archived
  3. Add your ad group information in the spreadsheet by entering the information below in the next blank row of the spreadsheet for each referenced column. All columns not listed below should be left blank in this row.
    1. Record Type: AdGroup
    2. Campaign: Enter the identical campaign name from the row above (case sensitive)
    3. Ad Group: Make the Ad Group name the same as the one for the Campaign column
    4. Max Bid: Enter your max bid (applies regardless of automatic or manual campaign)
    5. Ad Group Status: Enter Enabled or Paused
  4. For Manual-targeted campaigns: (Skip this step for Auto Campaign Targeting Type) Enter the information below in the next blank row of the spreadsheet
    1. Record Type: Keyword
    2. Campaign: Enter the identical campaign name from above (case sensitive)
    3. Ad Group: Enter the identical ad group name from above (case sensitive)
    4. Max Bid: Enter the max bid for this keyword. If left blank, the ad group's max bid will apply.
    5. Keyword or Product Targeting: Enter the keyword you want to bid on
    6. Match Type:Enter the match type for the keyword
    7. Status: Enter Enabled or Paused
  5. Add your ad information to the spreadsheet by entering the following information in the second row of the spreadsheet. All columns not listed below should be left blank in this row.
    1. Record Type: Ad
    2. Campaign: Enter the identical campaign name from above (case sensitive)
    3. Ad Group: Enter the identical ad group name from above (case sensitive)
    4. ASIN: Enter the ASIN of the product you want to advertise
    5. Status: Enter Enabled or Paused
  6. Save the spreadsheet to your local hard drive.
  7. Upload your spreadsheet.
