Listing
definitions
Agricultural Commodity products: Food that is in the natural form in which it is
grown.
This includes fruits, vegetables, herbs, grains, nuts, and similar agricultural
products. It does not include processed foods (such as those that are cooked,
frozen, dehydrated, or milled). However, field and other agricultural practices
such as washing, stripping outer leaves, waxing, and so on are not considered
processing. Commodity foods are those that cannot be easily differentiated by
customers when not clearly branded
Bulk: Foods that are custom packaged by a seller into quantities other than those
offered by the original food manufacturer/processor that are then offered in
unbranded packaging.
Both exposed foodstuffs, such as nuts, and wrapped foodstuffs, such as some
candies, can be considered "Bulk" if repackaged from the original manufacturer
quantities. Multi-packs and seller-created variety packs are not considered to
fall under the "Bulk" designation.
If your product offering falls into any of these categories, you must
meet the following listing requirements in addition to the standard Grocery
requirements.
Listing
guidelines
-
All Agricultural Commodity
and Bulk food products must be listed on separate, distinct seller-created detail
pages. These listings may not have multiple offers on the same detail page because
the provenance of the food or the way it is processed and handled will vary from
seller to seller.
-
To sell Agricultural
Commodity products or Bulk products, sellers must be approved for Brand
Registry and list these products with the unique, registered brand name.
Sellers may only list offers for these product types on applicable ASINs that they
created with their brand-registered seller account.
-
The primary image for the
product must show the item as it will be received by the customer in terms of both
packaging and quantity. Sellers may not use a generic image of the foodstuff for the
primary image.
-
All Grocery products must include product labeling in English that complies with applicable federal, state and local laws. See additional information on the FDA’s labeling requirements for food products.
-
Refer to Grocery requirements if food must be refrigerated, frozen, or otherwise temperature controlled.
-
All sellers are required to comply with all applicable regulatory and legal requirements related to the sale of Agricultural Commodity and Bulk food products, including, but not limited to, requirements related to product packaging. These products must comply with all applicable regulatory labeling requirements, including those mandated by the FDA.
Agricultural Commodity and Bulk product listings that fail to meet these
requirements will be removed from the site. Please note that Amazon may remove your
selling privileges for failure to meet these requirements.
