3 Steps for Improving Your Artwork Listings

Improve your Amazon Art listings by adding high-quality product images, the artist's biography, and details about the artwork.

Step 1: Add images of the artwork

Amazon Fine Art can display several images for each artwork. It is in your interest to provide several high-resolution images for your art so customers can make informed buying decisions.

Note: Listings with no main image are suppressed from the site, and customers cannot buy them.

Follow these steps to add the main image for your artwork:

  1. In the Inventory section of your seller account, select Manage Inventory.
  2. Search for the artwork by SKU, ASIN, or product title.
  3. From the Actions drop-down on the same row as the artwork, select Manage product images.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Browse File in the empty image box in the top left corner (MAIN).
  5. Select an image from your computer and click Open.

The main image should always be of the exact physical artwork only, cropped right to the edges of the artwork you are offering. If the artwork comes framed, this image must be of the framed artwork. If the artwork comes unframed, this image must be of the unframed artwork. Images must be at least 700 pixels on the shortest side. Amazon strongly recommends images that are at least 1000 pixels on the longest side to enable zoom for the best customer experience.

  6. Click Upload images to add your image for the artwork.

See the Fine Art Style Guide for more information about images, including swatch and variation images. Find the style guide by searching on "fine art" on this seller Help page: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/1641

Step 2: Add information about the artist

Include biographical information about the artist so Amazon customers can learn more about the artist who created the work. The more detail the better. This information improves the quality of your listing and can help customers discover your art.

Follow these steps to add biographical information about the artist:

  1. In the Inventory section of your seller account, select Manage Inventory.
  2. Search for the artwork by SKU, ASIN, or product title.
  3. From the Actions drop-down on the same row as the artwork, select Edit details.
  4. Select the Vital tab and enter information about the artist in the Artist Biography field.

Artist Biography text is limited to 2000 characters.

  5. Click the Save and finish button to save your update.

Step 3: Add information about the artwork

Describe the artwork in detail to help customers understand the motivation and story behind the artwork and truly connect with it. The more detailed the information, the better. Put yourself in a collector's shoes: what would you want to know, see, or understand about the artwork? Incorporating information about the history, concept, or technique of the artwork can fire the customer's imagination.

Follow these steps to add detailed information about the artwork:

  1. In the Inventory section of your seller account, select Manage Inventory.
  2. Search for the artwork by SKU, ASIN, or product title.
  3. From the Actions drop-down on the same row as the artwork, select Edit details.
  4. Select the Description tab and enter information about the artwork in the About this Artwork field.

About This Artwork text is limited to 2000 characters.

  5. Click the Save and finish button to save your update.
