The Consumer Electronics Store Style Guide

Make a good first impression

Most customers find products using the results from a search on Amazon or an external search engine.

The first view they have of your product will look much like these search results for TV.

Consumer Electronics includes:
  • Personal Computers
  • Cell Phones and Accessories
  • Office Products
  • Musical Instruments
  • See Subcategory Specifications for more on these categories.

A customer's first impression of your product will be based on these factors:

  • Image
  • Title
  • Availability
  • Price
  • Customer Rating

Providing a clear Primary Image and a concise and accurate Title will produce a better click-through rate—more customers will be inclined to select your product from a group of similar items. Once they reach your product detail page, you can further impress them with brief but specific Feature Bullets, a detailed Product Description and attractive Alternate Images. With the right information in place, your product page can increase your conversion rate—more customers who visit your product's detail page will want to buy it.

This guide will show you how to make your products easier to find and easier to pick out from groups of like products by making your product pages as accurate and concise as possible.

Important: Some subcategories have additional requirements for Titles and Feature Bullets. Review the Subcategory Specifications for more information.
