FBA inventory

Important: If you have a North America Unified Account and list products on Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, or Amazon.com.mx, products listed for sale in those marketplaces must be sent to a fulfillment center in the respective country. To create shipments for different North American marketplaces, select the marketplace from the drop-down menu at the top right of Seller Central before you create your shipment. For information about selling across North American borders, see Important information for international sellers.

Use the tools in your seller account to list products, create shipping plans, send in shipments, track and monitor your shipments, and remove inventory from Amazon fulfillment centers.

Send inventory to Amazon

Note: Once your inventory is received at a fulfillment center or receive center, it is available for sale. You can track the status of your shipment in the Shipping Queue as it changes from In Transit to Delivered, Checked-In, Receiving, and Closed. To learn more, see How Amazon receives and stores your inventory.
  • Send to Amazon: A streamlined workflow for small parcel shipments and pallet shipments packed in single-SKU boxes that are shipped using either an Amazon partnered carrier or a non-partnered carrier. Send to Amazon lets you create reusable packing templates to save box content information along with prep and labeling selections for your SKUs. This saves you time on each replenishment.
  • Send/replenish inventory to Amazon: This shipment creation workflow is for shipments of boxes that contain more than one SKU. For all other types of shipments, try using Send to Amazon, a streamlined workflow with fewer steps to replenish inventory.
  • Create a shipping plan in bulk: Upload a tab-delimited .txt file to create a bulk shipping plan.
  • Packaging and prep requirements: Avoid delays, unplanned service fees, and penalties by adhering to Amazon's packaging and prep requirements.
  • Use an Amazon barcode to track inventory: Each unit you send to a fulfillment center requires a barcode so it can be tracked throughout the fulfillment process. Products that don’t use a manufacturer barcode for tracking require an Amazon barcode.

For a quick introduction to the shipment creation process, watch the Seller University video series beginning with How FBA works.

Note: By default, when you create a shipping plan, your shipment may be divided into multiple shipments, each directed to a different fulfillment center. The fulfillment centers are selected based on the products you're shipping and where you are shipping from. By having your inventory spread across multiple fulfillment centers across the country, customers who buy your product may receive it faster than they would if your inventory was located farther away.
