2019 US FBA fulfillment fee changes

Note: For an overview of 2019 US selling fee changes, visit amazon.com/selling-fee-changes.

Effective February 19, 2019, Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) introduces the following:

  • We made no changes to fulfillment fees for small standard-size and large standard-size items with a shipping weight of 10 oz or less.
  • We implemented small increases in fulfillment fees for products in other size tiers to reflect fulfillment and transportation cost changes.
  • We changed the dimensional billing weight calculation for oversize items. We now apply a minimum width and height of 2 inches when calculating dimensional weight for oversize items, to align with packaging costs.
  • We introduced separate fulfillment fees for items that can be sold only through the FBA Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) program, which require special handling and storage. (Lithium batteries and items that contain or are sold with them are subject to an $0.11 cent per unit fee in addition to regular fulfillment fees.)
  • We will simplify the Subscribe & Save fee structure starting in September 2019. You will be able to fund a flat discount of 5% or 10% for each new item you add to the program.

Frequently asked questions

When do these changes take effect?

The new fulfillment fees are in effect as of February 19, 2019.

Will the fee changes apply to products ordered before February 19, 2019?

The FBA fulfillment fees are calculated and charged when shipments leave Amazon fulfillment centers. As a result, if a product is ordered before February 19, 2019, but is shipped on or after that date, the new FBA fulfillment fees will apply.

How do I determine what product size tier my product belongs to?

Use the product size tier table to determine your product's size tier.

Will this fee change affect Multi-Channel Fulfillment or the Inventory Placement Service?

The rates for the Multi-Channel Fulfillment program and the Inventory Placement Service are not changing at this time. However, dimensional weight is also used to calculate fees for both Multi-Channel Fulfillment and the Inventory Placement Service, and the way we calculate dimensional weight has changed. We will apply a minimum width and height of 2 inches when calculating dimensional weight for oversize items, to align with packaging costs.

Will this fee change affect items in the FBA Small and Light program?

No. For information on Small and Light fees, go to FBA Small and Light.
