Holiday Selling Requirements in Toys & Games

Holiday selling requirements will be implemented in Toys & Games this holiday season to maintain a positive customer experience on Amazon. Selling partners must meet the following performance criteria to be eligible to sell in Toys & Games through seller fulfillment from November 1, 2019 through January 3, 2020. If you do not maintain the criteria, you will not be able to fulfill orders directly this holiday season.

All seller-fulfilled orders are considered when determining your performance criteria. Orders that use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) are not subject to the holiday selling requirements.

Performance Criteria based on Seller-Fulfilled Orders (not fulfilled by Amazon)

  • Your first sale on Amazon must be prior to September 1, 2019 and does not need to be specific to Toys & Games.
  • You must have processed and shipped at least 25 seller-fulfilled orders from August 15, 2019 through October 14, 2019.
  • Your pre-fulfillment cancel rate must be no greater than 1.75% from September 15, 2019 through October 14, 2019.
  • Your late shipment rate must be no greater than 4% from September 15, 2019 through October 14, 2019.
  • Your order defect rate must be no greater than 1% as of October 14, 2019.

If your performance does not meet the criteria, we encourage you to take corrective action now to be able to sell through seller fulfillment in Toys & Games during the holiday season. We have included the following suggestions to remain eligible or improve your performance.

  • Monitor your customer metrics and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Check your orders frequently in the Manage Orders section of your account.
  • Minimize order cancellations; only show inventory for sale that you have available to ship.
  • Update your account status when you are not available to fulfill orders (for example, on vacation).
  • Ship orders and confirm shipment in a timely manner.
  • Ensure your seller policies are up-to-date.
  • If you work with outside drop-shippers, solidify their SLA commitments for providing prompt shipping confirmation.
  • Other ways to improve your performance.

Frequently Asked Questions:

If I meet the criteria in one country, am I approved for all the countries where I sell?

Eligibility to sell in Toys & Games for the holidays is determined separately for each country. If you sell in multiple countries, your performance metrics will be evaluated for each country.

Where do I find my performance metrics in Seller Central?

You can find your recent customer metrics in the Performance section of your seller account and can use your performance report to look at your customer metrics for the specified timeframes (using "Show orders between:" and "Fulfilled By" filters).

Refer to Monitor Your Account Health for more details.

Does this impact my Fulfilled by Amazon orders?

No, orders that use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) will not be subject to the holiday selling requirements. Visit Fulfillment by Amazon if you would like more information on how to sign up.

Why do my FBA orders not count towards my performance criteria?

The purpose of the Holiday Selling Requirements is to ensure customers have a positive shopping experience on Amazon during a period of high demand even when Amazon does not fulfill the order. The criteria is used to confirm selling partners have the tenure and performance record to deliver on the Amazon customer promise via seller fulfillment.

When will I receive a notification about my eligibility to sell in Toys & Games through seller fulfillment during the 2019 holidays?

We will send a notification before November 1st to all active selling partners in Toys & Games about their eligibility to sell in the Toys & Games categories for the holidays.

Will my seller-fulfilled orders in non-Toys & Games categories count toward my performance criteria?

Yes, any seller-fulfilled order on Amazon during the specified dates will count towards your performance criteria.

If I was approved to sell in Toys & Games via seller fulfillment in 2018, do I still need to meet the performance criteria to sell in Toys & Games via seller fulfillment during the 2019 holidays?

Yes, a selling partner’s eligibility is re-evaluated each year.

If I am not eligible, what happens to my existing listings in Toys & Games?

Existing Toys & Games listings will be inactivated for selling partners that are not eligible to sell during the holidays. Once the requirement is removed, you will need to re-list inactive ASINs.

If I am not eligible, how long am I unable to sell in Toys & Games via seller fulfillment?

The Holiday Selling Requirements are effective from November 1, 2019 through January 3, 2020. If you are not eligible, you will need to re-list inactive ASINs as of January 3, 2020.

How can I relist my seller-fulfilled Toys & Games listings after January 3, 2020?

To relist your listings one-at-a-time, please view your inactive listings in the Manage Inventory section of your account. You will need to update the sale price and quantity currently on hand and save your changes.

Professional Selling Partners can update seller-fulfilled listings in bulk using an inventory template. Sale price and quantity should be updated and uploaded via the Manage Inventory section of your selling partner account.

You will need to update the data for your Toys & Games listings as described above and wait up to 24 hours for your listings to appear.
