A Lightning Deal is a time-bound, promotional offer where an item is
featured for a limited number of hours, usually 4 to 12 hours (as determined by Amazon),
on the Amazon Deals
page. Featuring an item as a Lightning Deal may help increase sales and reduce your
inventory. Learn how to use Lightning Deals to help improve your brand awareness and sales.
How can I become

Which products are eligible for Lightning
Eligible products are automatically displayed
in the Eligible ASINs section of the Lightning Deals
Dashboard when they meet the following criteria:
Quality: Products must have a sales history on Amazon and at least a 3-star rating,
although this can change by marketplace and the time of year.
Product variations: Deals should include as
many product variations (e.g. size, color, style, etc.) as possible. For some
products, such as clothing and shoes, at least 65% of variations should be included
in the deal, although this can change by marketplace and time of year. The
pre-determined minimum percentage of product variations are specified when you
create the deal.
Category: Restricted products and products that are offensive, embarrassing or
otherwise inappropriate are not eligible. Examples of ineligible items include
e-cigarettes, alcohol, adult products, medical devices, medicines, and baby
Fulfillment method: Products must be Prime eligible in all states
including Puerto Rico. You can choose either Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) or Seller
Fulfilled Prime in Shipping Settings.
Condition: Only items in New Condition are eligible for Lightning Deals.
Seller Feedback Rating: You must receive a minimum of 5
ratings per month and have at least an overall 3.5-star rating, although this can
change by marketplace and the time of year.
Note: Because of other criteria that Amazon is
unable to disclose, it’s possible that certain ASINs may not receive a recommendation
although they meet the criteria listed above.
You can choose to Create a
Lightning Deal from the list of eligible ASINs in the
Create tab of the Lightning Deals
Dashboard. Eligible ASINs are refreshed every week, so a deal you see
this week may not necessarily be there next week.
