Update to the feed templates for shoes listings in the US

#1

What is changing?

Amazon is updating the custom Inventory File Template for shoes and the Shoes.xsd schema with attributes specific to shoe sizes. We will use these new attributes to display standardized and consistent size values to buyers on Amazon's retail website.

Starting May 30, 2019, we will make the following changes:

Feed templates:

  • Custom Inventory File Template for shoes. The footwear_size field (along with a number of related, conditional footwear fields) are added as optional fields. The size_name field remains as a required field. For more information see Shoe Size Standards.
  • Shoes.xml. The following new elements are added: AgeRangeDescription, FootwearSizeSystem, ShoeSizeAgeGroup, ShoeSizeGender, ShoeSizeClass, ShoeSizeWidth, ShoeSize, ShoeSizeToRange, ShoeSizeGenderUnisex, ShoeSizeWidthUnisex, ShoeSizeUnisex, ShoeSizeToRangeUnisex.

Feed processing: No change. Feeds for shoe listings that use the old fields and elements will continue to be processed as before, but sellers in the US marketplace are being encouraged to begin using the new fields and elements in their shoe listing feeds. The will help them be ready when we require these new fields and elements on Aug 30.

Starting August 30, 2019, we will make the following changes:

Feed templates:

  • Custom Inventory File Template for shoes. The footwear_size field is required. The size_name field is removed. This change is only in the US marketplace.
  • Shoes.xml. No change.

Feed processing: In the US marketplace, feeds for creating or updating shoe listings that do not use the new shoe size attribute fields or elements will not be processed. Shoe listings that do not use the new shoe size attributes may be removed from Amazon's detail pages. This applies to newly created listings as well as existing listings. For more information, see Shoe Size Standards.

I’ve found the new fields in the Shoes.xsd file used for feed processing via Amazon MWS API but the ShoeSizeComplianceData element is not actually used within the main Shoes element. Does anyone know where the ShoeSizeComplianceData element is meant to go?
