Sometimes threads become too volatile and the content too intrusive to an Original Poster. At these times, an Original Poster might self report and request their entire thread be deleted. Even though a thread might be educational to other posters and future readers, the moderators will at times accept an OP request to delete a thread because the OP feels threatened by the content.
According to moderators, they will consider Original poster requests to delete threads.
When this happens, my suggestion is to edit Original Posters names to a generic name in threads instead of deleting OP threads upon request. This would serve the purpose to protect a poster’s identity and also allow valuable threads to remain in the archives for future readers.
