For how long I can have merchandise in the FBA before Amazon charges storage fee?
does the quantity or size of the product matter?

You pay monthly storage fees. One thing to keep in mind is that the monthly storage fees more than triple for standard sized items from October through December.

Eventually long-term storage kicks in too (after 365 days).
