I have also posted this to the MCF category, but think this is a better category. This topic was raised here in 2013 with no resolution, so am asking again.
We have a Shopify store and use Amazon FBA integration to fulfill orders. Our product fulfillment on shopify is set to Amazon FBA.
The integration works great when the order is fulfilled in one shipment. The order is opened, and marked fulfilled once shipment is complete, and the tracking number is automatically updated. The customer receives email updates from order acceptance through to delivery.
The issue we’ve had from the beginning is with orders fulfilled by FBA in multiple shipments with multiple tracking numbers. Shopify cannot handle partial shipments and multiple tracking numbers. The tracking number from the first shipment is sent to Shopify and the customer receives an email notifying them that the entire order has shipped, and then again when delivered, that the entire order has been delivered. The order is then marked as delivered and complete, totally disregarding the fact that it was a partial shipment, and that additional shipments are on the way. Customers are left confused and sometimes angry, and we are left dealing with emails from said confused or angry customers. Very unprofessional.
Despite our going back and forth with both Amazon and Shopify for several years, and seeing that this topic has been on the Shopify forum for many years, it appears that the problem lies with Shopify, however Shopify is not concerned and is not going to offer a solution.
Are there any other Shopify users integrated with FBA expereriencing the same problem? Anyone find a solution? How to get Shopify to handle fulfillment and tracking at the item level?
Appreciate any insight.
