Read onlyApologies if anyone has already posted this solution, as I have not yet found this suggestion while searching the forums.
If you’re trying to issue a partial refund for an item over $20, all you need to do is the following:
Go to the “upload order related files” page: Order Related Files Page
Download the adjustments file.
Fill out the first 4 columns:
Save as text (tab delimited file)
Upload the text file to “upload order related files” page. Refund = Done.
Hope this helps!
Or go to Shipped Orders and Refund on the order that was shipped.
I just did this for two cents to get rid of the new Refund Widget Idiot thing.
It kept coming back, going away, then back. etc.
Thanks for providing this work around. I don’t understand how Amazon could release a new UI with such obviously missing use cases. They really need to work on releasing completely new things to fewer people to let them gather feedback before it is required for everyone.
Note: it appears that when I told it to refund $100 it literally refunded them $100 including tax. So I actually refunded them $92 from me + $8 in sales tax from Amazon
Unlike the form which calculates tax on top of what you tell it to refund.
I had a customer who I priced matched under the old form, they then returned the product but the new form would not allow me to issue more than the $20 concession. Seller Supports solution was to have the buyer call Amazon. Been 5 days and they still have not called Amazon (or at least if they have Amazon hasn’t issued the refund) so I’m very happy to have resolved this for them via this feed. Thanks again!
What program are you using? Doing so with google sheets is a bit annoying.
Google Sheets
Download as then select Tab-separated values.
Find the file on your computer, click it once, wait a few seconds and click the text field. Replace the .lxs with. txt
Then it’s ready for uploadd.
Does item-price-adj mean the refund amount or the amount you would like the price to be?
For example, if the product sold for $100, and we would like to refund $40 is the price adjustment $40 or $60?
Hello,
I’m following these steps exactly as mentioned above. However, I’m getting errors codes 90215, 90121, 99010
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
thanks for this clear instruction. worked like a charm with excel. saved sheet to text (tab delimited file) and uploaded. saw results under a minute. btw the item id I found inside the order.
works like a charm. It pains me to no end that Amazon continues to make untested or unwise changes without any notice to the people who use the system.
What is order-item-id? I can not find such an 14 characters ID. Please help.
" order-item-id Amazon’s unique, displayable identifier for an item within an order, provided in your OrderReport. Alphanumeric text, 14 characters. "
I do not believe such simple thing turns to a pain. I had to spent 1 hour to figure it out, the customer is mad and still nothing. Should I really deal with 20 years old method for a simple refund. Shame.
