Starting April 28, 2022, a 5% fuel and inflation surcharge will be applied to US FBA fulfillment fees. The surcharge will apply to all product types, such as non-apparel, apparel, dangerous goods, and Small and Light items. The surcharge will apply to all units shipped from fulfillment centers starting April 28. The surcharge is subject to change.
Can anybody explain, what this means?

Looks like these fees are going up by 5%.

I just saw the notice in my help section this morning.
At first read, I am under the impression that beginning on 4/28/2022 any item shipped from an Amazon FC, by Amazon from our FBA inventory, will have an additional 5% surcharge added to each item. (paid by seller)
it means prices need to be raised by 5%
For anyone who can’t find where this is because it wasn’t posted on the fee changes page:

Amazon updated the FBA fee charts to reflect the upcoming surcharge changes.
Side note: It would have been nice to do that before adding the alert banner on the top of the Help page.
I do not believe how they will be calculating this fee is in any way clear. I can’t figure out from the email if they are charging that on the actual shipping cost, the listing price plus shipping, or what. Amazon needs to clarify this for us.
Personally, I have no choice but to increase my price to absorb the cost. Thank God this is only on FBA items!
