fake stores with tens of thousands books, all with texas post office addresses, killing prices. It is not possible to have so many books ?!
That cadre of related spider/bookjacker sellers with Dallas-area post office addresses has been doing that for many years and is discussed on the forums with some frequency.
The good news is that their inside contact or whatever appears to no longer be deleting their negative feedbacks each day like they used to do, so their 30-day feedback is now dipping below 70% on some of their accounts. Hopefully they will eventually dip themselves out of existence. It’s both interesting and horrifying to see just how many negatives they should have been getting (well, keeping) all along. Many of the negatives are, of course, for cancelling and such because they have no (or very little) actual inventory.
All that time while they were able to get by deceiving Amazon’s customers while presumably someone inside Amazon removed the negatives to clean up ODR and prevent potential buyers from knowing what they were getting into is a real shame and a huge slap (or thousands of slaps… or a wrecking ball) in the face to Amazon’s customers and to honest booksellers.
I have 65,000 books, all shelved, in my back yard.
I could have 65k books, ephemera, media and collectibles online, but I am too lazy to have more than 20k.
I have no clue how much total inventory I own, just what my cost basis is.
The quality of the paper. Book club hardcover copies use lower quality of paper. Also anyone who smokes in the house will see the yellowing on edges.
Writing on inside or outside, or creasing corners or stuffing Sweet & Low packs in to mark pages are all “NO’s”
Most library or AAUW book sales would reject the stuff in that photo. Even the local Salvation Army probably has too many.
My favorite thing about bookselling posts is how they always get sidetracked
So let’s get this thread back on track.
Yeah I have about 30k books. I bought several bookstores. Your costs go way down if you buy 10 to 15 thousand at a time.

Those fake sellers deserve their own thread. I’d like to keep this one about the North East Dallas sellers.
