So I got this scary letter today for a toy that my supplier is having a hard time coming up with a CPC cert for me. This is for an already approved Toy in my FBA inventory. Its been a few weeks and I get the feeling that I will not be able to supply the correct documentation my supplier is not helpful. Next to last sentence, it says they “may remove your selling privileges” will that happen? Has that happen to anyone? The request also reads as if I am the mfg too.
Greetings,
Amazon’s policies require that all toys sold through the Amazon website meet specified certification standards and we understand you need some time to gather the below test items. In order to sell these products on Amazon, you must apply by submitting the following items.
By applying to sell these products you certify that all materials you submit in conjunction with your application are true, authentic, and accurate. Note that Amazon may remove your selling privileges for failing to meet these requirements.
We appreciate your cooperation on this important matter.
The problem you are having now has happened to other sellers this year. Amazon can remove a sellers privileges at any time and they don’t even have to tell the seller why they were suspended.
Toy manufacturers in China have been known to make toys with materials that have either been banned in the USA or materials known to cause health problems if those materials are used in higher levels than USA law requires.
In addition to what @Arizona_Dave said, your suppler should or better be able to get this from the manufacturer.
Well he said he is still waiting to hear back from TOMY the mfg, I see the reason to protect consumers but wouldn’t it be better for everyone if this is done on the front end before it even hits the warehouse? So if I cant get the papers, I have a good chance of my account being shutdown?
I got the same response even after providing them with the CPC (after a week and a half for them to respond).
So even if you send the CPC, they may actually still be robotic in their response.
Btw, universal, since you said your supplier is having a hard time.
Did you try asking the manufacturer themselves? That’s how we got our CPC, we asked both our distributor and the manufacturer.
The problem here is these were made before ASTM F963-16 / ASTM F963-17 was used.
You are not getting these.
Delete them and sell them somewhere else.
Can’t believe how many scumbag sellers insist on selling american children toxic toys.
