I recently purchased 2 books from different sellers in a single Amazon order. After a few days I noticed one book was marked “delivered” even though I never received it. Based on tracking, it was delivered to a different city. So, using the Amazon links in the order I wrote the seller (SELLER-1) explaining the problem. SELLER-1 responded quickly that they mistakenly uploaded the wrong tracking and my order was still in transit - great. However, I also receive response from SELLER-2 that they are very sorry for the problem, they have refunded my order and to keep the book if it eventually comes. I obviously feel terrible for SELLER-2 and plan to send a check to them once I receive their book since the message was not meant for them.
But why did my message destined for SELLER-1 go to both sellers? This can lead to all sorts of confusion similar to many complaints I read in this forum. It seems there may be a bug in the “send seller a message” system for orders with multiple sellers.
