You might explain, as briefly & politely as possible, that since he was satisfied with the description, you would rather have a 4, as a 3 counts as a negative with Amazon. You might also try to convince a seller help person that this is a product review, but I’m not optimistic.
The problem is not really that the buyer doesn’t “get” the ratings, it’s that Amazon counts a neutral as a negative in its totals.
Or, if you are a high volume seller with a decent feedback rate, you could just let it go.
