So I have a Package that was delivered to the Wrong Address on Oct 21st. On Oct 25 USPS finally went and picked up the order from the incorrect address and Redelivered it to the Correct Address.

The Deliver by Date was Oct 24.

I shipped on time. That wasn't the Issue. The customer contacted me on Oct 22 to tell me it said delivered and wasn't. We contacted both my and their local USPS That day and it was delivered to a house 1 block over. They agreed to go pick up and redeliver on Oct 23. They then told the Customer that they had trouble getting the resident at the incorrect address to give back the package, and thats why it took 3 days to redeliver. So the Package was re-delivered on Oct 25th.

USPS damaged the Order in this process somehow (it had what appears to be oil spilled all over the package and seeped inside onto the contents as well), and we have a claim in with USPS for the contents being destroyed, but thats separate from my question.

On USPS website it shows delivery 10/21 AND 10/25. On Amazon it's just showing 10/25 and not the one on 10/21. Which one is correct for OTDR? USPS just delivered it on time but WRONG, and then had to arrange to pick up and redeliver on THEIR end. In theory, it should probably be the 10/25, but in reality the original delivery date was the 21st. Nothing I could do to help this situation more than I did or any faster than I did to prevent this from being an OTDR hit. I literally contacted USPS the day I was notified it was misdelivered. I initially REALLY tried to get the Customer to just file an A-Z for the misdelivery and they didn't want to. They wanted to try and get the package. I was just curious about what to expect with this new OTDR garbage metric? I've never had one picked up and redelivered AFTER the delivery date... I usually deliver 3-5 days ahead of time, so when this happens, USPS usually picks up next day so its not a big deal. As a seller I do my best to keep my stats as good as I can, but in reality there are situations we absolutely cannot control, yet are still punished for. I'm fine with the punishment(im really not, but I understand), but this is one of those that I probably shouldn't be punished for... We aren't to the 24th on the OTDR list yet, so this one hasn't hit me yet. I was just curious if anyone knows IF it will ACTUALLY hit me because of the redelivery on the 25th OR will they go by that original delivery on the 21st?

Im not at risk or anything, I just like that stat to stay at 100%.

I had a relatively expensive item ($300) delivered to the wrong address. I purchased the shipping through Seller Central and it was shipped UPS. I contacted Amazon support and they suggested I open a claim with UPS. I attempted to open a claim with UPS and it said to contact my Channel Partner.

What is the best way to get the customer a refund (since they didn't get the package), but not be out the $300 since I shipped the item and used Amazon Shipping.

Should I have them open and A to Z claim? My concern is that if they do that and I lose somehow, it will hurt my ODR.

Any help is appreciated.

A-Z claim received for this order Amazon refunded the customer right away and gave us one chance to appeal.

To address the claim, we promptly appealed and provided all necessary documentation, including the tracking details proving the package was delivered to the address provided by the customer, but still Amazon kept their original decision refunding the order to customer.

Here is the appeal what we submitted to Amazon:

Dear Amazon, This message is to appeal the recent A-to-Z Guarantee claim filed by the customer. We understand the customer's frustration regarding the incorrect delivery address. However, we believe the claim is unjustified for the following reasons:

Customer Provided Incorrect Address: The order was shipped to the address provided by the customer during the order placement process: .... BONAVENTURE DR, COLUMBUS, OH 43228.

No Notification of Incorrect Address: We were not notified by the customer that the provided address was incorrect until after the order was delivered then the customer tell us it was supposed to be delivered at ... Player Ct, Galloway CT..

Order Fulfilled as Directed: We fulfilled the order as per the provided shipping instructions, delivering the package to the specified address.

We believe that the customer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the shipping address provided during the order process.

We have attached the DELIVERY NOTIFICATION from UPS showing the address provided by the customer.

We kindly request you to reconsider the A-to-Z Guarantee claim and reverse the decision. We are committed to providing excellent customer service and fulfilling orders accurately. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
