Hope this may work but when you first list the product seems like the only opportunity to do variation. it is on the top. You may have to start over and when done delete the original listing. That is what I had to do worked for me. Good luck

Try this start a listing using the same sku if you can or the asin. then add variation. you don’t have to delete the original listing see if that works
